Hier kom ‘n ding!
We’ve ordered – and paid for – an Iveco Daily 4×4 cab and chassis, and now the ‘home’ bit is being built by TravelStar in Knysna. We’ve finalised the design and it includes everything one could possibly need to travel the world:
- It’s insulated so that we can visit Canada, Alaska, Norway and cold places like that.
- It has electricity adapters so that we can use electricity anywhere in the world.
- It also has solar panels so that we can take advantage of the sun.
- It has special technical stuff that I don’t understand so that we can get by on ‘dirty’ fuel as found in Eastern Europe, Russia and Africa.
- It has great big windows so that we can park next to a waterhole in Africa and watch game as we chomp on a sarmie.
- It has an outside cooker (and an inside cooker) so that we can cook and eat under the African sun or stars.
- It has a bicycle ‘garage’ (obviously!) so that we can take our trusty bikes around the world with us.
- It has a photographic ‘porthole’ in the roof so that we can photograph lions (or bears) without becoming lunch.
- It has seatbelts in the back so that we can have a couple of people travelling with us from time to time. Unless you are the respected parents, you get to sleep in a tent outside. If you are the respected parents, you get to sleep inside, and we get to sleep in a tent outside. If you are certain of our friends, you get to sleep in the 5-star hotel and we get to park in the parking area next door.
